Hi friends! Thanks for joining me on my home tour! Today I’m going to share a peak of my living room. As a lover of all things Joanna-Gaines, I definitely looked to her for inspiration while styling this space. A blend of new pieces and antique finds, a neutral color palette, and loads of chippy goodness give this room the perfect farmhouse feel!
As you walk in the front door, you’ll be greeted by the smell of fresh linen, our sweet-but-energetic Belgian shepherd Harley, and one of my favorite projects ever, my DIY Cotton Wreath. To learn how to make your own (for only $20!) click here.
After passing through the entry way, you’ll step into our main living area. This photo shows the antique chair James and I re-upholstered together last winter, click here to read more about it. Also shown are the coffee table we built together (see the matching buffet below!), and the TV stand that was passed down to us from my in-laws. When it comes to furniture, I love blending different styles to add interest to a space!
This is my favorite seat in the house! We bought our Ikea Ektorp sofa and chair this spring and I’ve been SO pleased with them. I love that they come with removable slipcovers! Whenever they start looking dingy I just pull them off and throw them in the wash with a little bleach. Voila! Good as new.
I always have a blast scouring thrift stores for items I can use to decorate my home! The glass candle sticks, vintage books, and chippy window shown here are a few of my favorite finds! If you’re ready to start discovering the fun of thrift store shopping on your own, check out this post to learn what items to look out for!
Our buffet table displays some of my favorite details: a lovely white coffee service, and a pack of hand-written letters dating back to 1922. I love having these little snapshots of history on display in my home, each one offers a glimpse into another life and they are so much fun to read!
That’s all for today! I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour, come back and see us!
