I love using old books as decor in my home, and I always keep an eye out for them when I hit the thrift stores, but they can be hard to find and I’m not about to shell out $5-$15 for a book at an antique store.
Here’s an easy DIY hack: look for paperback books that are just old enough to have started yellowing. Usually books from the 70’s or 80’s will do the trick. The covers don’t need to be pretty, they just need to have a nice title page. These books are CHEAP, I usually only spend .50 each.
Once you’ve selected your books, carefully tear off the cover and peel off the spine. Then dress them up a bit with some twine, ribbon, or any other embellishments you like. And voila! You have vintage goodness for a fraction of the price 💗💕
